More than 2,000 new consumers signed a Connection Contract with EDA THESS’ natural gas distribution network in August, 2% more than the same period of 2019, despite the crucial conditions due to the pandemic and the effects of the summer season. Respectively, the distribution volumes showed a significant increase, which amounted to 10.7 million cubic meters, increased by 31% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.
EDA THESS prepares annual planning of operational preparedness drills, which aim at the overall readiness of its structures. The drills simulate the cessation of the Company's activities from the event of emergencies and focus on the ensuring of its business continuity.
Despite the difficult conditions, 2,600 new contracts were signed in July for the connection to the natural gas distribution network of EDA THESS, showing an increase of 3% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and an increase of 17% compared to the budget. In total this year, more than 22,000 new gas connection contracts are expected to be signed, reaching Budget levels.

Smart meters in smart cities
The five-year Development Program 2020-2024 of EDA THESS was approved by RAE (Decision 677/2020), which foresees investments of € 145 million.
The Connection of the Food and Canning Industry “INTERCOMM FOODS” to EDA THESS’ distribution network has been completed on 18/06/2020. It is one of the Greek leading companies with important exports activity, which has achieved international recognition.
The Connection Contract for the integration of Roka Refractories to the distribution network was signed in the meeting that was held between the CEO, Mr. Rokos Vasileios, the Manager of Gas Market Development, Mr. Michalis Stergiopoulos and EDA THESS’ executives.
The development of EDA THESS’ distribution network in the Municipality of Almyros was discussed in a meeting that was held between the Mayor, Mr. Vangelis Hatzikyriakos with the Manager of Gas Market Development in Thessaly, Mrs. Efthymia Kalogirou and the Company’s executives.
