Neo Rysio also joined the EDA THESS gas distribution network

Neo Rysio gas supply was inaugurated by EDA THESS, on Sunday 23.12.2018 at the Neo Rysio Community Hall Square, supported by the Municipality of Thermi and the respective Community. The event was attended by Mr. S. Famellos, Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy; Mr. A. Tzitzikostas, Regional Governor of Central Macedonia; Mr. Th. Papadopoulos, Mayor of Thermi; Mr. K. Gioutikas and K. Pallas, Deputy Regional Governors; Mr. S. Anastasiadis and Th. Karaoglou, members of the Board of Directors; Mr. V. Bouras, Chairman of the EDA THESS Board of Directors; and Mr. A. Bakouras, General Manager of EDA THESS.
EDA THESS Management underlined the main strategy pillars on which the Company activities are developed. The Company operates in full compliance with the legislative and regulatory framework in the light of its Operational Independence, in accordance with the principles of equal treatment and equal access to information for Distribution Users and End Customers. Within this context, it was announced that in January 2019 information about construction works shall be posted on the corporate website, so as end consumers to be directly informed. In addition, the main concern of the Company is network safety, evidenced by the zero accidents index during its long operation. EDA THESS’ goal is safe and high quality service, as supported by the emergency service and the fault-reporting call center, while the public can be updated by the customer service hotline.
Next, it was emphasized that, ever since the Company’s establishment, investments are and shall be made, taking into account primarily the technical criteria and always aiming at cost-effectiveness, so as not to raise the price for the final consumer. The Company strictly adheres to its 5-year Development Plan. In 2018, investments reached €25m, while new connections shall reach 24,500 instead of the 13,000 budgeted for the year, making a spectacular increase of 81%.
In particular, gas network connection of the Municipality of Thermi started 10 years ago with the community of Thermi, followed by Redestos; by the end of 2017 the communities of Trilofos and Plagiari were supplied and by the end of 2018 Neo Ryssio. In the first half of 2019, Vasilika, Tagarades, Agia Paraskevi and Souroti are expected to be also supplied, followed by Kardia in 2020.
The state and local authorities welcomed the excellent cooperation maintained over the years with EDA THESS, considering it a model company, of phenomenal professionalism and consistency in Greece, always providing citizens with low cost energy. At the same time, they congratulated the Company Management on the results, the organization and, as distinctively stated, for being “the first company to meet its commitments”.
The contribution of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy, with the adoption of the technical regulation, of the Region of Central Macedonia, with the contribution of €15m in the 2019-2023 Company Development Plan, and the Municipality of Thermi, for the excellent cooperation, was invaluable.
The year shall end with the supply of the Community of Chalastra, Municipality of Delta on Friday 28/12/2018.
