Koufalia: More than 300 gas connection applications in one day
EDA THESS information campaign on new gas connections and gas safety
The strong interest of the citizens of Koufalia, Municipality of Chalkidona Thessaloniki, for gas was recorded in the information campaign carried out by EDA THESS.
More specifically, throughout Wednesday 31st October, the EDA THESS Consumer Service Vehicle welcomed the locals at the central square of Koufalia. The information campaign was attended by Mr. Ioannis Tsouknidas, Mayor of Chalkidona, Mr. Michalis Stergiopoulos, EDA THESS Manager of Network Development & New Connections, as well as Municipal Authority officials and EDA THESS executives.
Scope of the campaign was to inform public on gas network connection process and capture public interest; resulting to more than 300 applications being lodged just yesterday!
Moreover, in addition to the detailed connection process, during the information campaign gas benefits were presented to the citizens of Koufalia – being an environmentally friendly, user friendly and practical fuel and with maximum appliance lifespan.

Additional scope of the Campaign was to further inform public on the safety of facilities, always under the Distribution Network Management Code (Government Gazette 1507/B/02.05.2018).
Increased participation of the citizens of Koufalia in the Information Campaign contributed to their awareness of the correct and safe gas use. During the Campaign, it was stressed that the Safe Gas Use is a universal responsibility. Consumers are themselves responsible for selecting a Licensed Installer for the in-house installation downstream of the meter, as well as for selecting a Supplier with regard to the Gas Supply Agreement. In addition, consumers were informed that they should carry out annual regular maintenance to ensure proper operation of the facility.
