Churches also connect to the Natural Gas Network
A meeting was held between the Metropolitan Bishop of Thessalia and Fanariofersalon, Timotheos, and Father Amphilochios, with EDA THESS’s General Manager Mr. Leonidas Bakouras and the Manager of Development & New Connections in Thessalia, Mrs. Efthymia Kalogirou, in the Holy Metropolis of Karditsa.
Main topic of the meeting was the connection of churches in Karditsa and Farsala with Natural Gas Network. For this purpose, Mr. Bakouras informed the attendees that in the Municipalities of Karditsa and Farsala the Churches of St. Constantine and Agios Nikolaos are already activated, and 11 (eleven) more Churches are able to be connected to the network immediately.
It was also noted that, the Holy Temples of Palamas and Sofades will be supplied, following the connection of the above areas with compressed natural gas (CNG).
The Metropolitan Bishop of Thessalia referred to the remarkable reduce of expenses recorded in the Churches of Karditsa, where natural gas is already used. He also mentioned the importance of the use of natural gas for the environment and for the improvement of the living conditions of the citizens both in the cities and in the peripheral districts.
His Eminence undertook to hold a special event at the premises of the Metropolis aiming to inform all the Priests, in order to collect all the necessary documents for the signing of the connection contracts of the Holy Temples of Metropolis, in collaboration with EDA THESS.
On behalf of EDA THESS, it was confirmed that, following the signing of the connection contracts, network construction works will be executed according to the technical regulations and legislation and taking into account the network safety, so that in the upcoming winter all parishes will benefit from the use of natural gas. It was pointed out, as well, that the Metropolis would not be charged with the connection fees.
